MIDDLESBROUGH ART WEEKENDER 2022
THE PEOPLE'S PLINTH

In August 2022 I began to work with the Middlesbrough community on an open access project based upon the theme of power in preparation for the Middlesbrough Art Weekender. Over six weeks visitors to the Hill Street shopping centre were invited to make clay sculptures to represent what they would like to see on a public 'plinth', something symbolic to them that would exemplify their ideas around power. The hundreds of clay sculptures were then gathered together to form a collective outcome that was exhibited in Pineapple Black during the Middlesbrough Art Weekender 2022.
