School children from our 10 participating schools visited the Middlesbrough Art Week for a special workshop. They were invited to respond to the UPROOT meadow in the gallery using collage. They took inspiration from printmaker Angie Lewin and the UPROOT Zine designed by Terresa Easton. Next they harvested seeds from the meadow, learning how to carefully remove the seeds from the dried heads and package them carefully in the envelopes they had designed. Students also took the chance to visit the rest of the MAW exhibitions and engage with a broad range of contemporary art.
